This is a quarterly publication containing information on strengths, requirements, intakes to and outflows from the UK Armed Forces. Information is broken down by Service, Officer/Rank, training indicator, gender and ethnicity. This publication uses data from the Ministry of Defence Joint Personnel Administration System (JPA) and Single Service legacy systems prior to the implementation of JPA.
This publication was called the UK Armed Forces Quarterly Press Release until July 2007, and then the UK Armed Forces Quarterly Manning Report (QMR) until January 2012. Following an assessment and recommendations by the UK Statistics Authority, it has now been renamed to the UK Armed Forces Quarterly Personnel Report (QPR). It was known as Tri Service Publication (TSP) 4 until 2010, when Defence Statistics reformatted information about UK Armed Forces manpower published in a range of TSPs to more coherent and accessible monthly and quarterly publications.

Revisions to Historic Data from the Joint Personnel Administration System
Defence Statistics undertook a major review of all Armed Forces personnel data from the Joint Personnel Administration System. Some figures for the period 1 April 2006 to 1 October 2011 did not match those published prior to 15 November 2012. Revised finalised figures for this period have been published in two compendium reports. The original QPR reports for this period can be found in the QPR Archive.
